Covid-19 bug hits Zim companies

SEVERAL companies, including Cimas, Fedex Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Sugar Refineries, Econet, OK Zimbabwe-owned Bon Marche, NMB Bank and PSMAS, have been directly hit by the deadly coronavirus, which has resulted in recent temporary office and branch closures.

The swift action taken by the firms comes at a time as confirmed cases have risen to over 1 800 from less than 60 a month ago and, thus, necessitating dusk to dawn curfew by the government. “This pandemic knows no boundary, race or level of economic development… In Zimbabwe, we have a fragile economy and health system… to fight the pandemic..,” President Emmerson Mnangagwa said on Monday.
